FOOTBALLER turned broadcaster Brendan Fevola says knocking Eddie McGuire’s top-rating breakfast radio show from the No. 1 spot has been a highlight of his comeback year.
Fevola, who co-hosts the breakfast shift alongside Fifi Box and Dave Thornton on FOX, won the last ratings survey for 2016 (on the FM dial) with a 9.4 share.
“We’re all the same company, but they had a fair run,” Fevola said.
“FOX made me feel welcome from day dot. I’m lucky I’ve got an ex-wife who’s now my fiancee, and three daughters because they’re my content. I love radio and I’m looking forward to keeping that no. 1 spot next year.”
Fevola, fiancee Alex, and their daughters attended Luna Park’s 104th birthday celebrations on Tuesday night.
His radio win capped off a great year for the reformed Fevola.
“People are getting to see the real me,” he said. “Life is good, man.”
Other celebrity guests at the Luna Park event included singer Jon Stevens, and granddaughter Summer, singer Tina Arena, showbiz queen Patti Newton, and footballer-turned singer Russell Robertson.
