Daniel Gorringe has played the game of his life on Big Brother, and the former AFL player couldn’t be more proud.
The Melbourne housemate, who played 26 games with Gold Coast and Carlton, is in Wednesday night’s live finale, along with Chad Hurst and Sophie Budack.
“It’s a weird moment, I’m probably more proud of this moment than I am of being a footy player,” Gorringe said.
“I was kind of very lucky with football, I don’t think I really earned that. I kind of fell into it because I was tall and you just expect it to happen. With Big Brother it’s the first thing I can say I earned and thoroughly put in the work.
“I’ve done it myself and I’m pretty proud.”
Gorringe got out of Melbourne before the border closed and has been keeping a low profile in Sydney with his partner Ana Cannon.
He has professed his love for her during the show but said he had been warned against a live proposal. The winner will take home $234,000.
“I’ve been told off, she told me if you win and think about proposing I will not be happy,’’ Gorringe said.
“She’d probably say no in front of Australia. To win would be great and it would set my life up. It would be good to buy a nice ring for her.”
