Tziporah Malkah’s estranged ex remains a free man but has been told he must comply with court orders or risk further consequences.

Magistrate Jacqueline Trad issued the warning to Nicholas Patsidis after he pleaded not guilty last Friday to assaulting Malkah on Thursday night.

“It is very important that you comply with your orders because if you don’t it is a case that you can find yourself facing a breach,” Magistrate Trad told Sydney’s Waverley Local Court.

Patsidis, 41, of West Ryde, was arrested after police were called to Malkah’s home in Randwick at 9pm last Thursday.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station, charged with common assault and “use carriage service to menace/harass/offend” and refused bail, spending a night in a police cell for allegedly punching Malkah.

On Friday, Patsidis pleaded not guilty to both charges and was released on bail with a $1000 surety and forbidden from posting any comments about Malkah on social media or contacting her.

The interim apprehended violence order states Patsidis must not contact Malkah in any way except through a lawyer.

He is also prohibited from going within 100m of where she lives or works.

Bail conditions require Patsidis report to Ryde Police Station between 8am and 8pm daily.

In court, Magistrate Trad gave Patsidis a verbal warning when addressing a NSW Police detention application after he failed to report to the station within that time frame.

Patsidis cited his reason for reporting to the station at 8.10pm being that he “started a new job”.

“I was in the media regarding this matter and that startled me,” Patsidis told the court.

Malkah, 46, was not in court. Magistrate Trad adjourned the matter until August 6 to give Patsidis time to work on his brief and seek legal advice.

Outside the court, Patsidis said he had “not much” to say about the proceedings.

“Not at all,” he said when asked if he had anything to say to Malkah, denying he assaulted his ex girlfriend: “Of course I didn’t. There is not much I can do.”

Asked how he felt about the case, he added: “There is nothing to feel.”

In 2018 Malkah, who was previously known as Kate Fischer and was once engaged to billionaire James Packer, was fined $1200 after pleading guilty in a South Australian court to assaulting ex-partner Guy Vasey during an argument over marijuana and a sick cat.
