It used to be thought that you’d made it if you were seen on the arm of a footballer but these days it’s the partners who almost outshine their beloved athletes. We’ve looked at our Victorian clubs to suss out who is on the market and have uncovered a few big names who might be considered to be some of footy’s most eligible bachelors.
Jack Ginnivan
The Hawthorn goalsneak and Collingwood premiership player recently revealed he’s single during a podcast chat. A cult figure of the footy world and female favourite, Ginnivan is close to his mates and said they’d like to plan an overseas trip at season’s end.
Matt Guelfi
Essendon forward who won the hearts of many last week with his goal celebration in tribute to Alexis, the young girl at the Royal Children’s Hospital who painted his nails. He has dabbled in some modelling and was recently spotted picking up an acai bowl with influencer Sam Guggenheimer.
Mason Cox
The towering Collingwood ruckman is yet to find his life partner after 10 years in Australia. A man about town, Cox, who hails from Texas, is now a dual citizen and on the hunt for an Aussie lady.
Cody Weightman
A talented artist and a crafty player, Weightman is always bubbly and full of life. The Vespa-riding Bulldogs forward is battling injury but has endeared himself to fans with his outgoing personality.
Jordan De Goey
If there is a partner on the scene we’d never know with this private star of the game. The Collingwood premiership midfielder has been no stranger to a headline in the past, but tends to keep his life out of the public eye. We hear he is yet to be tied down.
Harry McKay
His twin brother Ben is in a long-term relationship but Harry is very much eligible. The Carlton forward has had some goalkicking woes but he’d be a catch when it comes to dating.
Charlie Curnow
One of the game’s genuine stars, Charlie often pops up on TikTok as the footballer stealing the hearts of many a young female fan. The curly haired goal kicker is a Blues favourite but largely keeps his private life off social media.
Isaac Quaynor
The ripped defender said he’s focused on footy but is still keen to carve an off-field presence with ambassador, modelling and fashion roles. He has been seen more on the social scene and enjoys that side of his life.
Clayton Oliver
Melbourne’s midfield star has had his fair share of headlines during the off-season and it hasn’t been for romance reasons. He has stepped out at the Brownlow with girlfriends in the past.
Tom De Koning
Another strapping Carlton tall, who we hear may be on the market. His brother Sam is in a long-term relationship but Tom has had Robbie Williams sing a song about him — you can’t get more attractive than that.
Will Day
Hawthorn’s reigning best and fairest winner has been described as one of those guys you’d like your parents to meet. A tough midfielder and role model, he’s also been spotted taking in some theatre action.
Luke Davies-Uniacke
An on-ball star the handsome Kangaroo courted much attention when he stepped out during the Melbourne Cup Carnival. The 24-year-old is also set to be one of the most-sought after players in the game after holding off contract talks with the club.
Tyson Stengle
Geelong’s All-Australian goalsneak has turned his life around, plays great footy and stays under the radar. His close bond with former star Eddie Betts is to be admired.
Dion Prestia
Often spotted dining with fellow Tigers midfielder Martin at classy South Yarra restaurant France Soir, Prestia is also a private man who is on the market.
Dustin Martin
Could well be the most mysterious high profile player in the competition. The Richmond star has been linked to a string of women but has never confirmed any. If you want a low key under-the-radar relationship, he’d be the man.
Mark O’Connor
By popular demand we are including Geelong’s Irish star who we hear is one of the nicest people at the club. After more than 100 games since he debuted seven years ago, he is said to still be on the lookout for love.
