Chilling audio reveals the frantic 911 call made by Lisa Marie Presley’s housekeeper as the star’s ex-husband made a last-ditch bid to save her life.
Presley, 54, died after being rushed to West Hills Hospital and Medical Centre in California last Thursday, when her heart apparently stopped several times before she was declared dead.
“What’s the address of your emergency?” an operator asked the distraught housekeeper, who called 911 from Presley’s home in Calabasas, The New York Post reports.
The housekeeper struggled to get her words out and seemed frantic.
“Ma’am, is there someone else there with you right now?” the responder said, before asking if the worker could hand the phone to someone with her.
“Hi,” said a man, believed to be Presley’s ex-husband Danny Keough, upon taking the phone.
The operator said, “Sir, listen, paramedics (are— already on the way,” and asked if the ambulance needed to know anything to be able to get to the home.
“No, there’s a security gate in the neighbourhood, but they’ll just let them through,” he said.
A few seconds later, the man said he thinks the paramedics arrived.
Keough, who Lisa-Marie lived with, attempted to perform CPR until paramedics arrived.
Despite their divorce in 1994, the father of Riley Keough and the late Benjamin Storm remained closed to Presley and moved in with her after their son’s sudden death in 2020.
Lisa Marie also had two more children, twins Harper and Finley, with Michael Lockwood.
It came as workers prepared the burial site at Graceland for the mother-of-four, who will be put in a plot that lies next to Benjamin.
Her gravesite, which will be positioned along the backyard fountain, is directly opposite her the resting place of her legendary father, Elvis Presley.
The famous Mediation Garden is also the final resting place of Elvis late mother, Gladys, his father Vernon and his paternal grandmother, Minnie Mae.
Lisa Marie Presley grew up fearing her own mortality after she found her father dead in his bathroom at Graceland when she was aged just nine.
She often spoke of her own death and even referred to the backyard at the Graceland estate as a “graveyard”.
“How many people have a family grave in the backyard? How many people are reminded of their fate, of their mortality, every f**king day? All the graves are lined up and there’s a spot there, waiting for me, right next to my grandmother,” she told Playboy in 2003.
Presley’s cause of death has not yet been determined after an initial autopsy examination, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner.
“Presley was examined on January 14 and the cause of death was deferred. Deferred means that after an autopsy, a cause of death has not been determined and the medical examiner is requesting more investigation into the death, including additional studies.
“Once the tests/studies come back, the doctor evaluates the case again and makes the cause of death determination,” Sarah Ardalani, spokesperson with the LA County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner told CNN.
