Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, let their actions to the talking as they both carried on in London amid the fallout from Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare.
In moves observers picked apart for hidden meaning, the husband and wife pair held separate engagements that were both linked back to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Prince William visited the same homeless charity in London that his mother, Princess Diana, opened more than 30 years ago in 1990. He was shocked to learn children as young as nine were helped by the charity, which Diana visited several times before her death.
The Prince of Wales was reportedly upset at the use of footage from his mother’s infamous Panorama interview for the Netflix series, Harry & Meghan. It was seen as a betrayal after Prince William publicly declared that he never wanted it aired again.
Catherine, meanwhile, stepped out in burgundy to visit to host wheelchair rugby players at Hampton Court.
It was the same starkly royal colour that she co-ordinated with the Royal family for the Princess of Wales’ Christmas carols at Westminster Abbey.
The shared colour pallets among Catherine, daughter Princess Charlotte, sister Pippa, and Zara Tindall was conspicuously co-ordinated. Ms Markle had just claimed in her Netflix series that her style was “toned down” by the palace so no one stole the limelight away from more senior royal women.
KATE ‘BAFFLED’ OVER HARRY’S ATTACKS
The Princess of Wales has made her first solo appearance since her brother-in-law Prince Harry was dragged into a diplomatic row over Iran’s hanging of a British-Iranian national.
Catherine visited Foxcubs Nursery, a kindergarten in Luton, as part of her work on childhood development.
The Princess high-fived pupils while they made face masks, learned Chinese and played in the sandpit.
The wife of Prince William looked radiant in a fitted top and skirt combination from Gabriela Hearst and a Massimo Dutti cashmere camel coat which she first wore in 2020.
It comes amid backlash against Prince Harry for his bombshell revelations in his autobiography Spare.
Prince William and Catherine were both heavily criticised in the Duke of Sussex’s controversial memoir, with Prince Harry claiming that they both fell out with his wife Meghan Markle.
Insiders told The Mirror that Catherine was left “baffled” by Prince Harry’s personal attacks on her and her family.
Ever the professional, the Princess of Wales appeared to throw off the drama as she chatted to parents and teachers about the importance of early childhood development.
It was her first solo appearance since the Iranian regime used Prince Harry’s revelation in Spare that he killed 25 Taliban fighters to justify its execution of British-Iranian national Alireza Akbari.
In a tweet storm to deflect away Britain’s outrage at the of death Mr Akbari, the Iran Foreign Ministry used Prince Harry’s admission as an example of hypocrisy on human rights abuses.
The 61-year-old had moved to the UK and became a naturalised citizen before he was lured back to Iran in 2019 and charged with spying.
He was executed last week in a move Britain’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak labelled a “cowardly act, carried out by a barbaric regime”.
