Jarryd and Sarah Roughead were just 22 and 19 when they attended their first Brownlow. Now lucky number seven will be their last, as they bid farewell to footy’s night of nights.

Brownlow 2018: Highlights from the Red Carpet

“This is Brownlow lucky number seven for us this year, we’ve had our fun,’’ Sarah said.

“We were 19 and 22 when we first attended, I’ll never forget I was the lucky one who walked the carpet alongside Bec (Judd), because she’s so glamorous!”

Roughead is joining St Kilda in an off-field role.

Sarah, wearing a dress by Kyha from One Day Bridal, said it’s an exciting time for them and daughter Pippa.

“Jarryd has played football for 15 years and it’s been a blast,’’ she said.

“We’re so excited for what’s next, absolutely it’ll take time to adjust but it’s been such a fun ride how could you not be excited for what’s next.

“I’m not sure if I will (have footy withdrawals) to be honest, perhaps I’m wrong.

“I’ll miss seeing our friends and family most weekends, but we walk away with the best of friends and best of memories.”

The Rougheads will be joined at the Brownlow on the Hawthorn table by Jaeger O’Meara, Ricky Henderson, James Worpel, James Sicily and last year’s winner Tom Mitchell.

All eyes are usually on Dustin Martin and his date for the Brownlow, but this year he is again taking Tigers teammate Josh Caddy.

The 2017 winner isn’t the only top player taking a mate, with Bulldogs fancy Marcus Bontempelli to be accompanied by former Bulldog Jack Redpath.
