Carlton WAG Jessie Murphy says hospital stint won’t stop her from attending the Brownlow

She’s Brownlow red carpet royalty so even a nasty bout of the flu that landed her in hospital won’t keep Jessie Murphy from attending this year’s Brownlow.

Footy glamour girl Jessie Murphy is set to steal the Brownlow Medal red carpet spotlight after recovering from a serious bout of the flu.

Murphy, wife of Carlton veteran Marc, will attend her eighth Brownlow on Monday following a recent health scare when the whole family, including one year-old son Max, ended up in hospital.

“I still have a middle ear infection but at least I’ll be up and standing for Monday,’’ Murphy said at Crown Towers.

“We had our vaccinations but I got it first, then Marc caught it, so it was hard to rest and get better and look after a child at the same time.

“I always look forward to the Brownlow. I love wearing something new and exciting and working with a great team.”

Murphy will be styled by Lana Wilkinson in a gown by Oglia-Loro Couture.

“It’s been a different year for the boys and where they finished on the ladder was exciting so it’s great to celebrate them,’’ she said.

“Marc had a pretty good year and hopefully he can go on for a few more.

“Hopefully Crippa (Patrick Cripps) will win it. I think he’ll win a few in his lifetime.”

Wilkinson is expecting to see a lot of colour at footy’s night of nights.

“A lot of legs, thigh high splits, pastel hues, bold brights and tulle,’’ she said.
