FLOATY frocks, plunging necklines and dapper suits … welcome to the 2018 Emmys.
Scarlett Johansson, Kristen Bell and Jessica Biel have turned heads on the red carpet (though technically, a brown carpet) at the 70th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
Wearing a white Balmain gown, Johansson — who is dating Emmys host Colin Jost from Saturday Night Live — was an early frontrunner for best dressed.
Biel, Heidi Klum and Emmy nominee Alexis Bledel opted for pretty pastels, and The Handmaid’s Tale actor Madeline Brewer sizzled in all-black. The Alienist’s Dakota Fanning sported a metallic green Dior gown complete with 175 carats of Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Australia’s only Emmy nominee, The Handmaid’s Tale actor Yvonne Strahovski, showed off her baby bump as she posed before the ceremony.
Strahovski told E! her baby boy is due “any day ... hopefully not today”.
“Just going to hold him in there and hope for the best,” Strahovski said, according to People. “Now we have (announced it). So it’s out!”
The Emmys are known for being tasteful and traditional when it comes to style choices, with stars out to impress, rather than shock, with their formal attire.
Even the blokes looked the part with Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington (in a traditional black tie) and Justin Timberlake (in a bow tie) - there to support his Emmy-nominated wife, Biel - dressed in sharp suiting.
