MORE than $60m will be spent on overhauling school facilities for children with disabilities in Victoria.
Premier Daniel Andrews announced the new package in Aspendale today after months of roundtable meetings to identify the gaps in the system.
The package will help 90,000 students with special needs and is all new funding.

“This is a comprehensive package and comes directly from listening to parents and teachers,” said Mr Andrews.
“This $61m package will mean better outcomes and better support.”
The overhaul includes:
- $7.5m for after school care and holiday programs.
- $12m for specialised equipment including braille translation software.
- $6.5m for scholarships for teachers and staff to upgrade qualifications.
- $6.4m to enhance playgrounds and early childhood infrastructure.
Speaking at Yarrabah School in Aspendale, the Premier also announced funding for a long-awaited hydrotherapy pool at the facility.
Minister for Education James Merlino said the package was all new and would improve inclusion across the state.
