TWO teens claim Harrison Geppert was repeatedly punching one of them with knuckle dusters when he was fatally stabbed in a Gold Coast park, a court was told.

The fight was allegedly over a pair of shoes.

Neither teen told police about the knuckle dusters in the days following Harry Geppert’s death last year.

The allegations about Harry using the knuckle dusters came to light during a committal hearing in the Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Jarvis Jai Farrier, 19, is accused of murdering the 17-year-old by stabbing him in the back, just to the left of the spine, in Frascott Park, Varsity Lakes about 5.40pm on September 4.

Harry, the younger brother of ex-bikie and infamous Instagramer Ben Geppert, died at the scene.

Farrier was on Thursday committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court.

It is alleged Farrier was in a car with two other teens when they saw Harry walking down the street.

They pulled up and one of the teens began to fight Harry over a pair of shoes.

It is alleged that during the fight Farrier stabbed Harry in the back.

The teen who started the fight with Harry gave evidence in court on Thursday and said he punched Harry first.

The teenager, who cannot be named as he was a child at the time, said after a few punches were exchanged he saw Harry pull knuckle dusters from his pockets.

“I only had a quick glimpse because he pulled the shirt over my head,” the teen said.

The teenager said Harry was punching him repeatedly and Harry had pulled his shirt over his head so he could only see his toes.

He told the court the first he knew Harry had been stabbed was when he saw him fall to the ground.

He said Harry got up and ran through the park.

When asked why he didn’t tell police about the knuckle dusters the teenager said: “I wasn’t really thinking straight. I was still in shock from the whole thing. I didn’t really believe it still.”

The teen was asked to describe the knuckle dusters and he said they were “black or chrome” and were “shiny”.

The third teen, who also cannot be named as he was a child at the time, in the car also told the court he had seen Harry with the knuckle dusters.

He said he did not tell police about the knuckle dusters because they never asked.

The teen described them as “silver”.

During the committal hearing the court was told paramedics made two incisions in Harry’s chest in an attempt to relieve pressure in his lungs.

But an autopsy found the incisions were not enough to relive the pressure the court was told.

Critical care paramedic Scott Brown told the court the incisions were part of a last-ditch effort to save Harry and made when he had been in cardiac arrest for about 10 minutes.

The trial is expected to take place in the coming months.
