POLICE are at the scene of a robbery at a Gold Coast convenience store that happened just after midday.

A Queensland Police spokesman said officers were called to the scene about 12.30pm after the store on the corner of Parkwood Blvd and Zoeller Dr was robbed.

The Bulletin is seeking more information from police.

The Sunday robbery occurred just weeks after two men allegedly brandished a machete and bat during a terrifying raid on a Coomera hotel.

It is alleged in that incident the men threatened staff at the Coomera Lodge Hotel just before midnight on September 7 before fleeing in a stolen car.

A police spokesman said at the time the pair allegedly smashed through a glass door to gain entry to the gaming room.

He said the hotel was closed, however, there were staff members finishing up for the night.
