MICK Fanning’s accused stalker is again in strife with the law, sentenced to jail for removing a tracking device she was ordered to wear after being charged with harassing the Gold Coast surfing legend.
The Courier-Mail can reveal that Sarah Anne Foote, who allegedly penned chilling love letters to Fanning, faced Richlands Magistrate Court earlier this month, charged with breaching her bail and wilful damage of police property.
She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three months’ jail but was released immediately on parole. Foote was also ordered to pay $808.50 in compensation for the repair of the electronic tracking device, court records reveal.
The 38-year-old Ballina woman was charged earlier this year with stalking Fanning between January 29 and February 4 this year and breaking into his beachfront mansion on February 2.
Police alleged in court that Foote wrote bizarre letters to the three-time world champion, before entering his Bilinga home.
One letter read “Sarah loves Mick”, while the other allegedly referenced the woman saying she had thoughts of killing the surf star.
Fanning allegedly found the letters after returning from a three-week holiday. The letters revealed Foote had an “unhealthy infatuation” with the surfer, police have alleged.
Foote was allegedly seen by a neighbour entering Fanning’s home on February 2 after jumping a fence.
Police allege Fanning and some mates disturbed her inside the house before she ran off.
The case comes as a man accused of stalking seven-time world champion Stephanie Gilmore faced a Tweed Heads court this week charged with breaching a protection order.
Squires Winter, 66, allegedly approached Gilmore at the Tweed Coast Pro surfing contest last weekend.
