Ben Geppert arrested in Kingscliff after dramatic foot chase

Notorious and Insta-famous former bikie Ben Geppert will spend the weekend in the Southport Watchhouse after being accused of beating a man with a baseball bat.

NOTORIOUS and Insta-famous former bikie Ben Geppert will spend the weekend in the Southport Watchhouse after being accused of beating a man with a baseball bat.

Geppert did not apply for bail when he appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court on Friday charged with extortion, assault occasioning bodily harm, making threats and demanding property with menace.

The ex-Hells Angels bikie will apply for bail on Monday.

Police will allege Geppert went to a Broadbeach Waters home on September 2 and threatened a man.

He is accused of beating the man with a baseball bat leaving him with cuts and bruises.

Geppert smiled and joked with detectives as they walked him barefooted through the wet Southport police station car park to the watchhouse.

The 30m walk ended a whirlwind 24 hours for the former Hells Angels bikie who was arrested in northern New South Wales on Wednesday night after a dramatic chase over rooftops.

Geppert was tracked down to Casuarina Way, Kingscliff about 7.15pm on Wednesday.

It is alleged Geppert ran from police, jumping over fences, running across rooftops and through the backyard of homes.

Police allege they lost track of Geppert when he ran into bushland. He was found about 8.15pm with the help of Queensland police.

The former bikie appeared briefly in Tweed Heads Local Court on Thursday via video link and wearing a red hoodie.

He did not apply for bail and his extradition to Queensland was ordered.

Hours later, Geppert arrived in a police van with two police officers.

He was wearing a blue forensic jumpsuit and was barefoot as he walked through the Southport police station car park.

Geppert smiled and joked with detectives as they took him into the watchhouse.

He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Friday morning.

Geppert rose to notoriety around the Coast for his antics on Instagram and ongoing arguments with other well-known former gang members.

In May 2018 he was caught on camera brawling with a bikie in a KFC car park.

Geppert also hit the headlines when he breached a ban on going to Robina Town Centre twice in a few months.

His brother Harry Geppert, 17, was allegedly stabbed to death in Frascott Park, Varsity Lakes on September 4 last year.

Jarvis Farrier has been charged over Harry Geppert’s death and is still before the courts.

In August 2019, the home of Ben Geppert’s former neighbour was shot at in Carrara and police investigated whether it was a failed attack on Geppert.
