An alleged thief with expensive taste has been charged after police found more than a dozen high-end bikes and designer watches at a Gold Coast unit.

AN ALLEGED thief with expensive taste has been charged after police found more than a dozen high-end bikes and designer watches at a Gold Coast unit.

Officers found at least 15 high-end road and mountain bikes and more than two dozen watches during the search of a Miami apartment.

Police said the bicycles ranged in value and colour with brands including S-Works, Cervelo, Giant, Trek and Merida. The watches include brands such as G-Shock, Fossil, Pulsar, Michael Hill.

Drugs and utensils were also found in the unit, police allege.

Police believe a number of the items were allegedly stolen from residences in the Miami neighbourhood between April 26 and 27.

A 39-year-old man has been charged with drug and property related offences.

The bicycles and watches are currently being stored at the Burleigh Heads Police Station.

Police said for those who may own one of the stolen bikes and/or watches, relevant identification or proof of purchase will be required.

The man appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court on May 11.
