THE Gold Coast’s swankiest rooftop poolside bar-restaurant is taking the plunge and reopening on Saturday saying it’s time to “ditch the Lycra” and dress up.
Star Gold Coast’s Nineteen venue on the top of its luxury suite hotel The Darling will open this Saturday, the Bulletin can confirm.
They will have multiple restaurant sittings for 10 patrons at a time as per the State Government guidelines
Nineteen partner Jackie Cross said they were excited to lead the pack as the state starts to reopen.
“We’re going to get dressed, put something nice on, and get out of the Lycra, and enjoy the experience of dining,” she said.
“That’s what we’ve missed. I think the Gold Coast is ready to open up.

“We want to be part of the new push back to reopening the state. It’s not so much about opening the restaurant – let’s be part of reopening the state for business.”
Mrs Cross said their chef Uday Huja would be back on deck to create a fine-dining lunch and dinner experience.
“It’s only under restrictions in very limited numbers, but we thought why not go for it?,” she said.
“Nineteen’s not a massive dining room, it’s quite an intimate setting anyway.
“As always, the experience is a little bit elevated. It’s somewhere beautiful, it’s a bit more exclusive and special.
“We know the demand’s going to be high.
“People will need to plan a bit better, and make a reservation with plenty of time to get in.”
