Two teenagers injured as group set upon in violent armed robbery along Eggersdorf Road, Ormeau

Detectives are investigating a violent robbery in which two teenagers were beaten and left with injuries. Find out more.

Two teenagers have been bashed in a violent robbery at Ormeau in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokeswoman confirmed to the Bulletin that a group of teens were set upon while walking along busy Eggersdorf Road near Achievement Drive just after midnight.

“They were approached by a red vehicle,” the QPS spokeswoman said.

“Two people got out of the vehicle and an altercation ensued.

“The two people stole some personal property, got back in the vehicle and left the scene.”

Two 17-year-old boys were injured during the robbery.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were called to a nearby address and assessed two patients who didn’t require transport to hospital.

It’s unclear at this stage whether the incident was targeted, or an unprovoked attack.

Detectives from the Child Protection and Investigation Unit are appealing for witness and CCTV or dashcam footage as part of their inquiries.
