A car has gone up in flames at Coomera on Sunday evening with the explosion ringing out across the suburb.
The loud bang was reported by residents around 10pm in the vicinity of the Coomera train station.
A Queensland Fire Department (QFD) spokesman said a short time later emergency services were called to reports of a bushfire off George Alexander Way.
Two crews responded and upon arrival found a vehicle on its roof and fully ablaze in bushland near Celestial Way.
The QFD spokesman said firefighters managed to reach the car and extinguished the blaze at about 10.40pm.
No one was at the scene when emergency service arrived.
A Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokeswoman said the vehicle, believed to be a late model Ford Falcon, had become stuck in the bushland days earlier.
According to the QPS spokeswoman the car was pushed onto its roof and deliberately torched.
