The case of murder-accused ex-councillor Ryan Bayldon-Lumsden continues its slow progress through the lower courts as his defence team trawls through evidence.
Mr Bayldon-Lumsden’s legal team have entered a not guilty plea to the murder charge.
He was not required to appear when his case was briefly mentioned in Southport Magistrates Court on Friday.
Solicitor Ron Behlau, of Behlau Murakami Grant, told the court that they were still making their way through the large tranches of material disclosed to them in recent weeks.
Mr Behlau asked for a further adjournment to review it and determine what may still be outstanding, saying their team was expecting to receive further material in the near future.
The court was told at Mr Bayldon-Lumsden’s previous mention that an “administrative error” had seen a significant amount of material inadvertently left with police prosecutions.
His case is due to return to court on June 14. Mr Bayldon-Lumsden remains on bail and will not be required to appear at the next mention.
