The 50-year-old was given a notice that her licence was suspended before being released.

The court was told that only hours after her first run-in with police, Regecova was nabbed a second time by the same officer, saying she knew she had been granted bail but did not realise she was not allowed to drive.

Bodyworn camera footage released by police shows the officer telling Regecova: “I told you not to drive” and “You’ve blown well over again”.

The Tamborine Mountain woman recorded a BAC of 0.183 a short while later.

The court was told Regecova was struggling with insomnia and other health concerns at the time after returning from overseas, and had been fasting when she decided to knock back several drinks on top of prescribed melatonin to help her sleep.

Regecova did not feel “impaired” the next morning and was driving to pick up her son when she was first pulled over, it was heard.
