Miami crash: Moped rider dies in crash with parked car
Police have released new details into what happened in the lead-up to a fatal moped crash on Monday morning.

A moped rider who died after crashing into a parked car in the early hours of Monday morning had been spotted doing wheelies and driving recklessly three hours before the crash.
A 33-year-old man died after crashing into a parked car on Marine Pde, Miami about 4.40am on Monday.
A police spokeswoman said on Tuesday the man had been spotted on Trickett St, Surfers Paradise “driving recklessly” and doing at least one wheelie about 2am on Monday.
Police were called to the area but the moped fled.
It was not seen until police arrived at the crash.
The forensic crash unit is investigating the incident and are waiting for blood alcohol testing results to be returned.
Witnesses suggested to police the man was not wearing a helmet.

A moped rider has died after a crash with a parked car on a beachfront street in the early hours of Monday morning.
Emergency crews were called to Marine Pde, Miami about 4.40am.
Police believe the 33-year-old man crashed into a parked car.
Witnesses have suggested that the rider was not wearing a helmet.
A police spokesman at the scene said: “We’re still in the process of investigating how it happened.
“All we know at this stage is that he came down the road and ran straight into the back of the car.
“We’re waiting on blood alcohol testing to come back.”
Suzanne, a tourist who has been holidaying in the area, said emergency services arrived close to 5am.
“I could hear the ambulance early in the morning and I could see so much traffic,” the elderly woman said.
“We couldn’t see much else but we saw the motorbike laying on the road.”
Another local resident said the crash was a “tragic” reminder of how short life could be.
“I wonder if he was on his way to work or going to the gym or coming back home from a party?” he said.
“It’s just sad, life can be taken so quickly.”
The forensic crash unit is investigating.
Gold Coast Police Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon told the Bulletin the scene was a “very confronting scene”.
Police officers were on the scene gathering evidence to determine what happened.
The black moped was seen on its side with a blue tarp nearby.
Police directed traffic around the area.
