A Gold Coast body builder and Instagram influencer has gotten brutally honest about the effects steroids have had on his body.
Jaxon Tippet gave a no holds barred assessment about what happened when he was using steroids during an interview for the Good Humans podcast.
Tippet was 23 when he was fined $4000 in 2018 after being caught with 250 steroid tablets and vials of steroids. He was also caught with a needle in his underwear.
At the time he was spruiking legal dietary supplements and his own “body bulking” program on his Instagram account, which has more than 166,000 followers.
His Instagram now has 164,000 followers.
On the podcast released this week, Tippett said for the first year or two of using the steroids, the drugs were “cool” and “sweet”.
“I didn’t feel any side effects,” he said.
“I was living with all the benefits from it.”
Then things started to take a turn for the worse.
“I slowly, you know, I could feel my health deteriorating in terms of my liver and kidneys,” he said.
“I was very tired.
“I was yellow in the face. My urine was very dark. It was almost orange.”
Tippet then went even more personal.
“It came to a point where later, down the track, like the last year or two, like I would be in a relationship with my ex and, you know, I couldn’t get an erection,” he said.
Tippet said a lot of people did not realise the side effects of steroids.
“You can suffer things like you can’t get an erection, you can gain weird very easy, mental issues,” he said
“So I suffered all of that man, and yeah it was hell bro.”
Tippet then pointed out that because of the drugs he lost his girlfriend, almost lost his family and almost went to jail.
The body builder posted a video of the podcast to his Instagram on Tuesday saying he had set a new goal of speaking around Australia “through schools seminars and events to help people suffering from drug addiction, mental health problems and all the other problems that comes along with these”.
