A Gold Coast bodybuilder and personal trainer accused of importing and trafficking steroids has been slapped with a raft of fresh charges.
Stephanie Aimee Kalms, 30, faced Southport Magistrates Court for the second time in almost as many weeks on Thursday.
She appeared on eight new charges including six of possessing dangerous drugs and one each of failing to dispose of a needle or syringe and breaching bail.
Police allege Ms Kalms had a swag of drugs including clenbuterol, oxandrolone, diazepam, MDMA, and steroid agents at her Labrador home on Wednesday.
The fresh charges come just more than a fortnight after her most recent appearance on earlier charges including importing border-controlled drugs, trafficking dangerous drugs, supplying and possessing dangerous drugs, and supplying and possessing medicines or hazardous poisons.
It is alleged Ms Kalms imported oxandrolone and clenbuterol – steroids and stimulants respectively – at Brisbane Airport between October 1, 2022 and January this year.
The personal trainer allegedly trafficked those same drugs between April, 2022 and September, 2023, and supplied other people with testosterone or other unauthorised medicines on dates within that same period.
She was allegedly found with several steroids – including testosterone, methenolone, and nandrolone – at her Labrador home in September.
Ms Kalms pleaded guilty this week to failing to dispose of a needle or syringe and breaching a condition of her bail that banned her from using encrypted messaging apps such as Wickr, WhatsApp, Signal, or Snapchat.
She was fined $500 and no conviction was recorded.
Ms Kalms’ remaining charges were adjourned to December 7. She will remain on bail and has not entered pleas to any other charges.
More than 25,000 people follow the personal trainer’s Instagram account, where she listed ‘(International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation) bikini pro’ and co-host of podcast ‘Let’s Talk Bikini’ among her qualifications.
Much of Ms Kalms’ content revolves around her passion for fitness, including workout videos with motivational captions such as, “You can’t shortcut the process”.
