A teenager has been charged following an armed confrontation allegedly involving knives at Pimpama State Secondary College.

Four teenagers were arrested following a fight outside Pimpama State Secondary College.

Police were called to the Clarence Street address at around 3.10pm on Monday afternoon to reports of a fight breaking out between two people armed with knives.

Four teens were arrested at the scene and no one was injured.

It is understood two of the teens were enrolled at the school.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed that a 16-year-old Coomera boy has since been charged.

He has been charged with one count each of going armed to cause fear and trespass.

He is due to appear at Southport Children’s Court on October 18.

A second 16-year-old boy from Pimpama was issued a caution notice. No complaints were made against the remaining two teens.

A spokesperson from the Department of Education said the safety and wellbeing of students, staff and the school community was of the highest priority.

School officials were monitoring the wellbeing of students and staff with ongoing counselling and support services in place.

Taking to social media, students who had already began leaving for the day described the terrifying moment the school was placed under lockdown as the fight broke out.

“(They) took out the knife right next to me, I was sprinting,” one student said on TikTok.

Another user said the armed teens “chased my brother”.

“I think it was two boys,” they added. “Had a (sic) argument with my brother’s friend group and brang (sic) a machete.”

Parents took to Facebook to express their concerns.

“Terrifying when you have your child call you scared as they can’t get home through the park cause there is kids with machetes, knives and bats running around them.

“The school acted swiftly and got all children back inside school grounds. Disgusting that this is the world we are living in but so grateful no one was hurt,” one parent said.

Another parent said: “My son rang and said there were cops everywhere and boys with machetes.”

Another added: “Yeah my sons told me when they got home somebody had a machete and a bat.”
