Wacol man, 18, Wilsonton Heights girl, 15 and Drewvale girl, 16 arrested after unlawful use of car on Gold Coast

Police have arrested three teens in regards to a number of incidents including allegedly threatening a rideshare driver at knifepoint before stealing the car, along with a FJ Toyota Cruiser.

Gold Coast police allege around 2.17am on Anzac Day they received a report a rideshare driver was threatened with a knife while parked at a fuel station in Hamilton, Brisbane.

The 18-year-old Wacol man, 15-year-old Wilsonton Heights girl and a 16-year-old Drewvale girl then allegedly stole the white Toyota Camry.

Police said they received second report almost nine hours later of a gold FJ Toyota Cruiser which was stolen from a Garfield address in Paddington Brisbane.

The three teenagers were spotted by a member of the public driving along the M1 towards the Gold Coast around 3am on Wednesday.

Around 6.37am on Thursday police received a report of offenders attempting to get into a residents house on Fleetwood Court in Helensvale.

The report alleged they were armed with a gun.

The report mentioned the offenders leaving in a gold Toyota FJ Cruiser.

The three teenagers then made their way back to Brisbane.

Police found them travelling through Inala and successfully deployed a tyre deflation device on Inala Ave at 4.55pm.

The Toyota FJ Cruiser smashed into a park bollard when the three teenagers fled on foot.

Police found them nearby a short time later.

The Toyota FJ Cruiser was recovered by police, however the Camry with registration 021SPG was still outstanding.

The three teenagers were charged with one count each of assault, robbery, unlawful use of motor vehicle and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.

The 18-year-old Wacol man will appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on Thursday and the two girls will appear at the Richlands Childrens Court.

Knifepoint carjacking and then Nerang stolen credit card bid

Police are investigating after a ride-share driver was carjacked at knifepoint in Brisbane, with the offenders later trying to buy gift cards at a Nerang service station with a stolen credit card.

It comes as a group of people with a second car stolen from Brisbane were also spotted trying to enter a Helensvale home. It is believed they had a firearm.

The two stolen cars were spotted together on the M1.

Police say a ride-share driver was held up at knifepoint about 2.15am on Anzac Day at the Cooksley and Yulestar streets, Hamilton service station.

The white Toyota Camry, which has the registration 021 SPG, was stolen an seen heading off on Kingsford Smith Dr towards the Brisbane Airport.

About 11.50am on Tuesday a gold Toyota FJ Cruiser was stolen from Garfield Dr, Paddington.

A Queensland Police Media spokeswoman said the two cars were seen on the M1 headed to the Gold Coast.

Then about 6.30am on Wednesday a Fleetwood Crt, Helensvale resident reported to police that someone was trying to get into his property.

Police believe they “possibly” had a firearm.

The group was seen leaving in the stolen gold Toyota FJ Cruiser which has the registration 7914 YMF.

It was also reported to police that the stolen Toyota Camry was spotted at a Beaudesert Nerang Rd, Nerang service station.

The car’s occupants were trying to buy gift cards using a stolen credit card.

The service station worker refused as the card was stolen and the group left.

Police are investigating.
