A now 62-year-old man was caught on camera trying to “prank” a woman with a prosthetic penis kept in the glove box of his car.

Antoni Stroinski drew the woman’s attention while sitting in a parked car on Sunshine Pde, Miami on January 22, 2019.

Southport Magistrates Court was told the woman approached the car and saw what she believed was Stroinski’s penis poking through the zipper of his shorts.

Stroinski gestured down and said, “Watch this”, then began pretending to masturbate.

The horrified woman backed away and began filming the incident on her phone, later reporting it to police.

Stroinski was not interviewed by police until more than four years later, when he again came to police attention after driving while unlicensed on April 1 at Labrador.

The court was told Stroinski initially told police he had no recollection of the incident, but said he had been using that car at the time as it belonged to another man he was living with.

He told officers he owned a realistic prosthetic penis he bought for an ex-girlfriend, which was kept in the vehicle’s glove box and had been used by both Stroinski and one of his employees in a “flashing” prank around the Gold Coast.

Defence lawyer Daniel McShane, of Rawlings Criminal Law, said Stroinski was now remorseful for the prank and accepted that no one - particularly women - should be subjected to such “distasteful” behaviour.

Mr McShane said his client had been without a driver’s licence for decades and usually relied on co-workers in his tiling business to get around, but decided to “run the gauntlet” that day to meet a job deadline.

Magistrate Sarah Thompson told Stroinski the community’s poor view of his actions were “not specific to gender”.

“The public are entitled to walk around and not be exposed to that kind of behaviour,” Ms Thompson said.

“While you might find it amusing, the public does not.”

Stroinski pleaded guilty to one count each of indecent act in a public place, unlicensed driving, and contravening a police direction.

He was fined $1000 and no conviction was recorded.
