A man has been taken to hospital with head injuries and police are investigating following an alleged assault in Biggera Waters.
Officers were called to South Quay Drive, not far from Harbour Town Shopping Centre, about 11.30pm on Wednesday.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said a 48-year-old man had been assaulted.
He had a number of facial injuries including a laceration. Paramedics attended and treated the man before he was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Police have taken another man into custody who is assisting with investigations.
The pair are known to each other and officers are not seeking to speak with anyone else over the matter, according to police.
No charges have been laid following the incident.
