An e-scooter rider has been hospitalised with serious injuries after colliding with a car in Labrador overnight.
Paramedics were called to the scene on Turpin Rd near Central St at about 6.30pm on Wednesday.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the e-scooter rider, a 22-year-old man, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with head and leg injuries.
Police are now investigating the circumstances of the crash.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the man’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, with initial investigations suggesting the e-scooter was heading south along Turpin Rd at the time of the crash.
The spokesman said the driver of the Commodore, 58-year-old Southport man, had allegedly returned a positive roadside blood-alcohol reading and was assisting police with their inquiries.
