Gold Coast emergency services had a busy Saturday night, responding to a crash involving an allegedly stolen car and a floodwater rescue.
Police have charged four teenagers over the crash, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning at Upper Coomera
Police were called to the scene at about 3:10am where they found the four teenagers near the damaged black Ford Focus hatchback.
The car had allegedly been stolen from Bahrs Scrub in Logan.
The teenagers were arrested and taken to Southport Watchhouse.
An 18-year-old Beenleigh woman was charged with one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle and will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on December 16
A 15-year-old Ormeau girl was charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and will appear in the Southport Childrens Court on December 4
A 17-year-old Loganlea boy and a 16-year-old Beenleigh boy were also each charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of breach of bail and will both appear in the Southport Childrens Court on Monday.
Meanwhile emergency services crews were called in to perform an early-hours swift water rescue on Mudgeeraba’s John Road at 2:48am Sunday morning.
They rescuing five people isolated by floodwaters as wild weather continues to strike across the Coast.
The Queensland Fire Department swift water rescue team brought all to safety.
No injuries were reported.
