It was the busiest weekend for Cricket Gold Coast with Alberton claiming their first win of the season in a massive upset over a side expected to be at the top come finals time.
There were some brilliant individual performances and plenty of team performances as Mudgeeraba become the only undefeated side in first grade.
We have put together the top 10 performances over the weekend from first grade and juniors.
Top 10 performances from the weekend.
Seniors:
Shaun Snyder – 72* (74)
Round 3 – Helensvale Pacific Pines v Runaway Bay – First grade
It wasn’t the highest score of the weekend but it was an innings of maturity from Snyder who came in when his side was 4-53 and in a bit of trouble.
Snyder batted time early and built into the innings, creating two partnerships with the Lickiss brothers to guide the side to 8-219 and a winning position.

Jack Charlton – 4-20 (6 overs)
Round 3 – Surfers Paradise v Burleigh – First grade
With the game very evenly poised between the two sides, Surfers Paradise were in need of someone to remove Burleigh’s James Martin (46) who looked solid as early wickets fell around him.
Enter Jack Charlton, Surfers’ third change bowler, who came on and claimed four of the final five wickets, including Martin, to help bowl Burleigh out for just 115.
Max Houlahan – 121 (76)
Round 3 – Queens v Palm Beach – First grade
Houlahan showed no respect for the Palm Beach bowlers in Saturday’s round three clash, smashing 10 x4s and seven 6s in his 76 ball innings.
Coming in at 3-63, Houlahan put on a partnership of 136 with Steven Baker (46*) to lift their side to 5-243.
Ryan Walker – 6-32 (8 overs)
Round 4 – Helensvale Pacific Pines v Palm Beach – First grade
Sitting at 2-134, Palm Beach looked set for a massive score in Sunday’s round four clash with Helensvale, thanks to Jared Neuhaus (86) getting them off to that flyer.
But then in the 21st over, Walker had other ideas, trapping Cody Durante (26) in front before trapping Neuhaus as well in his next over.
Palm Beach lost 8-47 with Walker claiming six of those eight wickets.
Helensvale almost made a meal of the run chase being 4-37 but the Walker and the lower order all chipped in with 20s to get their side across the line. (Skipper Kaleb Day top scored with 45)
Stephen Muller – 90 (93)
Round 4 – Southport v Runaway Bay – First grade
Suffering from defeat on the Saturday, Southport needed to bounce back and not start the season 1-3.
Southport were chasing 179 for victory, with Muller opening the batting and it looked to be going the way of Southport suffering from their third defeat of the season.
But at 4-28, Muller and Harvey Rankin had other ideas, putting together a partnership of 144 to help Southport to a five wicket win.
Week two stars: The top five performances from juniors and seniors

Hugo Collett 8-6 (3 overs)
Round 3 - Runaway Bay v Helensvale - Under 11s North

If his magic with the bat was not enough, O’Toole went on to claim eight wickets in four overs and conceded a minute 14 runs.
