Blake Mozer v Oskar Bryant
One is from northern NSW and the other is a northern Gold Coast kid. One has flaming red hair and has been signed by the Gold Coast Titans, while the other has sandy hair who is with the Brisbane Broncos.
So what do Oskar Bryant (Palm Beach Currumbin SHS) and Blake Mozer (Keebra Park SHS) have in common? They are both the outstanding dummy halves of the Langer Trophy.

Mozer is a crafty ball-playing No.9 who can speed a game up or down while working both sides of the ruck with subtle variations.
“He is our school captain, an academic boy and that transfers across into his football and how smart he is on the football field,’’ said Keebra Park SHS coach Glen Campbell. “He is a big hooker who has a long way to go in this game.’’
Contracted by the Brisbane Broncos, Mozer played Langer Trophy in 2020 as a rookie but has taken his game to another level in 2021.
“It is a great comp to be in. We have been in it for a long time and had our success in it,’’ Mozer said.
“It is good for me personally. I played in it last year as a 16 year old coming off the bench and it was a good experience learning off the older boys.’’
PBC SHS dummy half Bryant is another young gun wearing No.9 on his back.
He can play short or long to his halfback Weaver, work the blind or open side, all the while possessing pace to tear a tired middle to bits.
His long passes to open up a side of the field for Weaver is a highlight, but so is his speed.
“Oskar is a crafty organiser and great decision maker,’’ praised PBC SHS coach Tim Maccan. “Either by running, passing or kicking, he will keep asking questions in attack until he finds the weakness. He can also hold his own in defence.’’

Josiah Pahulu v Xavier Stowers
Ipswich SHS’s recovery from a horror start has certainly been aided by the go forward of props Josiah Pahulu and year 11 rookie Rene Bagon.
A defiant attitude in defence has been the biggest turning point in Ipswich’s season, but behind that big boppers Pahulu and Bagon have pushed Ipswich forward in the ruck.
And so two worlds are sure to collide at Langlands Park on Wednesday when mountain men Pahulu and Xavier Stowers (Marsden SHS) come together.
Pahulu is built lower to the ground with legs like tree trunks and forearms like that of a lumberjack.
Stowers is like Jack in the Bean Stock.
He has all the power of a Mack truck road train, but he is also a towering figure who stands at 194cm in height.
Stowers’ raw power has seen him score close to the line tries from seemingly impossible positions.
They also know each other well, having played together in the Ipswich Jets in Meninga Cup.
And the pair have another thing in common - they are both signed by the Gold Coast Titans.
