1. Tiarna Ahwang

The Cairns-born Ahwang showed great athleticism and touch, even on a rainy day. Led strongly at the ball and found space around the ground, playing mainly on the wing. She has genuine athletic ability, is hard to beat in the air and has great run and likes to run with the ball.

2. Lily Postlethwaite

The Queensland captain was everywhere during game one of the Championships. Postlethwaite was fierce in her attack on the ball and read the ball of her teammates hands well. Her contested work was particularly impressive.

3. Serene Watson

Was a rock in defence all day for an under-siege Queensland side. The suns academy product competed strongly in the air and used her big boot to clear the ball on multiple occasions. If she didn’t hit a target, she kicked the ball into space and allowed her teammates to run onto it.

4. Taylor Smith

The Bond University product had a purple patch in the third quarter, taking a good mark on the lead and locking the ball in Queensland’s 50 with good forward pressure. Made the most of limited opportunities and kicked a great goal in the fourth.

5. Zimmorlei Farquharson

Provided a lot of spark up forward for Queensland and kicked a great snap goal in the third quarter. Used her speed to find space and showed a lot of intensity around the ball.
