GOLD Coast Dolphins all-rounder Delissa Kimmince could make her Test debut in next month’s Women’s Ashes, while clubmates Sammy-Jo Johnson and Georgia Redmayne are also a chance to be called upon to face the Old Enemy.

Kimmince was today included in a 14-player Australian squad for the points-based series against England, which will include three One-Day Internationals, one Test and three T20s between July 2-31.

One of five potential Test debutants in the squad, 30-year-old Kimmince has played 12 ODIs and 28 T20s for Australia but never worn the Baggy Green.

A 13-strong Australia A squad featuring all-rounder Johnson and wicketkeeper-batter Redmayne will also tour England from June 29 to July 19, with players able to be called upon for the Ashes tour if required.

“We’re fortunate to be able to take an Australia A side to England as well, which will give us flexibility with the squad as we move through the various formats,” national selector Shawn Flegler said.

“This (Australia A) tour is a terrific opportunity for these players to test themselves in notoriously tricky English conditions, with most of the squad also part of the Australia A tour to India last year.

‘WE’LL HAVE THE BEST TOP FIVE IN THE COMP’

“We have a really strong pathway in place for our female cricketers and this group represents the next generation of Australian players, so to be able to invest and give them this experience is incredibly valuable.”

Redmayne will ply her trade for Queensland next season after last month joining the Fire’s Women’s National Cricket League squad.

The 25-year-old made history for Tasmania in the 2018-19 WNCL, becoming the first Tiger to win the competition’s Player of the Year award.
