THE Gold Coast Dolphins have turned to club legend Chris Swan to continue their Queensland Premier Cricket resurgence in 2019-20.
The former Dolphins and Queensland Bulls quick was today unveiled as the new men’s head coach at the club’s Annual General Meeting.
Swan, 40, served as the Dolphins’ Lord’s Taverners coach last season and had previously ruled himself out of the top job but was persuaded by long-serving president Jeff Pfaff.
The club had been without an official head coach since the sacking of Jerry Cassell in November, with assistants Peter Ford and Nathan Anson taking on extra responsibility following his departure.
On the field, the young Dolphins playing group made giant strides in 2018-19, underlined by the first grade side narrowly missing the two-day finals after two years of struggle.
The AGM also marked Pfaff’s final day as president, with one of his last acts to award club great Damian Wallis Life Membership.
