SUPER Trucks are set to return to Australia for the Gold Coast 600 this year after more than a year out of the country.

The Boost Mobile SUPER Trucks were banned from competing by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport on safety grounds, a decision which devastated fans.

The 600hp vehicles will now be featured at the GC600 in October.

Supercars CEO Sean Seamer said he had “amazing memories” with the sport, and was excited to see it return to the city.

“It’s great news that all our fans are able to again see Stadium Super Trucks back racing on the streets of Gold Coast,” he said.

Created by racing legend Robby Gordon, the event has been a “crowd sensation” since they first raced at the Clipsal 500 in 2015.

Boost Mobile founder Peter Adderton has been supporting the comeback mission from behind the scenes.

“It’s been an incredibly tough 16 months not being able to race in Australia but I’m thankful to Eugene Arocca and CAMS for their efforts in making this possible,” he said.

“Robbie has created a great package over the years, he knows it’s about entertainment and value for the fans.

“We love the entertainment, the racing, the noise, the future potential growth of this category and that it’s about the fans all across Australia.”
