IT’S about to get even louder at the Gold Coast 600 with an Ibiza-style festival coming to the annual supercar race.

Entertainment king and queen Billy and Jackie Cross have partnered with Supercars chief operating officer Shane Howard to bring a unique style of party to the race days, moving it away from Broadwater Parklands and back on to the track.

Surfers Paradise’s Macintosh Island will be home to two new venues — “The Hill” with live bands performing throughout the day and “The Club 600”, which will be an over 18s music festival.

“Club 600 will have DJs like Carl Cox, Eric Powell, Example and Hot Dub Time Machine,” Mr Cross said.

“We are creating a feel like Elrow parties — like what you have in Ibiza, Mykonos and Vegas. There will be big Tomorrowland style change with roaming entertainers. We are bringing back the party onto the track.”

But it’s not only the entertainment which will be upped — with food and drinks stepping up a notch.

A Rosé garden bar and Chandon bar will offer supercar goers a taste of luxury.

“This year’s supercars is partnering with some really reputable Gold Coast restaurants,” Mrs Cross said.

It comes as night racing was introduced to the event for 2021 after the State Government signed off on a new five-year deal with V8 Supercars.

The 29th Gold Coast 600 will be held on October 25 to 27. Tickets are on sale now.
