Gold Coast Titans signing Arama Hau played his way into our Langer Trophy Team of the Week after captaining Keebra Park SHS to victory over Marsden SHS in round 3 action.
Hau had a big match with line breaks and one try assist, while defensively he was all over the Marsden pack.
It was like he took the challenge of playing Marsden personally and his inspired performance gives him a high standard to maintain when Langer Trophy action returns on July 12 with round 4 action following the school holidays.
News Corp, via www.couriermail.com.au. the Gold Coast Bulletin and News affiliates will live stream Langer Trophy and Walters Cup (Year 10) matches.
Also shining for Keebra Park SHS was hooker Isaiah Fagalilo who controlled the middle expertly, while also finishing with a try assist and his own four pointer.
WATCH THE REPLAYS
With his hustle from the ruck, Fagalilo also put pressure on the Marsden SHS kickers.
If Hau was the forward of the round, then Wavell SHS No.6 Karl Oloapu the back of round 3 alongside his winger, Tyreece Tait.
Both Broncos boys, they could not have been more impressive in Wavell’s win over Mabel Park.
Oloapu was on fire in the halves with his short and long passing, while his running also challenged the Mabel Park SHS defence.
He was a cut above any other player on the ground, although his fellow Broncos Academy mate Tait was not far behind with his three try effort down the left wing and strong chase efforts on the kick.
It was a round for outside backs with Taniela Mapusua-Lotaki (Keebra Park) - running for 200m - and Ipswich SHS pair Cayleb Jackson (fullback) and Anton Naiyep (centre) starring alongside PBC SHS fullback ace Keano Kini.
To get the best 13 on the park, we have done some shuffling with Kini in the halves, Naiyep on the wing and Jackson in the centres.
Mabel Park SHS prop Alex Leapai was arguably the prop of the round despite Mabel’s loss to Wavell SHS, while PBC SHS’s Isaiah Scanlan starred and Wavell SHS pair Ben Uini and Damascus Neemia held firm.

Leapai finished with two tries, but also caused Wavell concern with his threat of offloading.
Mapusua-Lotaki did not have it all his own when it came to the dummy half role, with Ipswich SHS’s Tommy Luhrman playing a blinder against Redcliffe and Will Saunders sharp on debut for PBC SHS.
Despite his side being well beaten, Redcliffe SHS edge forward John Fineanganofo won a place in the starting side.
Coombabah SHS also manned the pumps and leading the way was Broncos’ signed edge back rower Lewis Symonds and prop K-ci Whare.
