Jack Lukosius will be four years into his career when he comes out of contract next but while the young star knows the road to success at Gold Coast won’t be short, he is in it for the long haul.
Lukosius has ended a year of speculation by re-signing with the Suns until the end of 2022 and he is determined to make sure he helps lift Gold Coast off the foot of the ladder quickly.
“We know it will be hard work and that is what we are here for,” Lukosius said.
“We have been training hard and we know it will take time but we won’t put limits on ourselves. If we can get better quicker, why not.”

The 19-year-old tall, who played 21 games in his first year, was determined to be patient about making a decision on his future and revealed his personal development carried the most weight in his mind.
“I just didn’t want to rush into it and make a decision before I knew what was going on,” Lukosius said.
“I wanted to know what it was like in the AFL system and to be honest the biggest thing was development and whether I can become the player I want to be at the Suns.
“For me that was the biggest tick.
“I have been looked after really well with some very good coaching and I think with the young group we have got coming through at the same time it’s going to be exciting to be part of it.”
