A pedestrian who tragically died when he was hit by a car in Noble Park has been identified.

It is believed a delivery driver was attempting to cross Heatherton Rd when he was struck by a car around 8.30pm on March 3.

Emergency services were called to the scene and gave CPR to the 73-year-old man but he later died.

WorkSafe Victoria said it was investigating the death.

This comes after another driver was killed in a single car crash in Heathcote when their vehicle crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

The incident occurred shortly before midnight on March 3 as the vehicle travelled along Heathcote-Redesdale Rd, near Chapmans Lane.

The driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene.

There have been 55 lives lost of Victorian roads this year compared to 48 from this time in 2021.
