Police investigating teen injured after losing control of car in Helensvale

Emergency service were kept busy overnight, rushing to three crashes in the Coast – one involving a teenage driver.

POLICE are investigating after a 17 year old lost control of the car he was driving and crashed into a fence at Helensvale overnight.

It was one of three major crashes in the Gold Coast region over a five-hour period.

Emergency services rushed to Derwent Ave about 10.50pm following reports of a single-vehicle rollover.

Two males, one with shoulder pain and one with a minor head injury, were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.

A police spokesman said no arrests had been made and investigations were continuing.

In a separate incident, a man with chest pain was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after a car rolled down an embankment on Flemington Windabout Roads, Beechmont at 9.54pm.

A person was also taken to Gold Coast University Hospital after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of the Gold Coast Highway and Waterways Dr, Main Beach at 6.39pm.

They were in a stable condition with chest pain.

Rider injured after being struck by horse

July 30: A RIDER has been taken to hospital suffering from head, abdominal and pelvic injuries after a horse bolted and struck her, seemingly with its hoofs.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were called to a private residence at Maudsland about 8.30am on Friday, a spokeswoman said.

Paramedics treated a patient of an undisclosed age and gender after the incident.

The rider was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition for treatment.

Traffic chaos on M1 after three car crash

July 29: Traffic backed up southbound on the Pacific Motorway following a three car crash late on Thursday afternoon.

Paramedics were called to reports of a three car crash southbound on the M1 just before 5pm.

Two patients, a man in his 40s with neck pain and a man in his 80s suffering from chest pain, were taken stable to Gold Coast University Hospital.

It comes after a two car crash on a busy Coast street, which resulted in six people being treated by paramedics.

Emergency services were called to a two car crash on Traders Way and Currumbin Creek Rd about 3.10pm.

Paramedics treated six people at the scene and took two stable patients to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Earlier, emergency services were called to a two car crash at an Ashmore carpark about 3pm.

Paramedics assisted two people at the scene.
