The man charged over the death of his girlfriend messaged his drug dealer to drop off meth to reverse the effects of her heroin overdose because it would “save (him) an $800 ambulance bill”, police allege.

In court documents released to The Advertiser, police allege Ethan Lenny George Ross, 27, sent a series of messages to people the afternoon and evening before his girlfriend Amy Lee Bowden, 26, was found dying in their Redwood Park home on Thursday.

Mr Ross has been charged with supplying or administering a drug of dependence, and allegedly told police he had used meth to try to counter the “downer” she had overdosed on with “an upper”.

Police allege, after analysis of his phone, Mr Ross had commented on earlier experiences with Ms Bowden overdosing, and had used meth to “get her up” in the past.

In one conversation with his meth dealer, Mr Ross allegedly asked him to deliver “yellow bricks” so he could “shoot (Ms Bowden) with it and pick her up”.

“It’s the only way to wake her up,” he allegedly sent.

“I’ve already put a point in her. She’s breathing normal so I know another half to a point will have her up. Her lips were purple. They’re not now.”

“Further text messages from the accused state he could not call the ambos as Ms Bowden would be cut from her methadone program if a doctor finds out she overdosed,” police said.

“He then stated ‘you saved me an $800 ambulance bill’.”

In a conversation with another person, Mr Ross allegedly said he had seen Ms Bowden “like this multiple times”.

“My GF OD’d (sic). I’m having to shoot her up with ice to wake her up,” he allegedly said.

“When asked if she was OK, he replied ‘yeah man, she’s breathing normal.’ He further states ‘she was unconscious all night, woken up and ate another (xanax)’,” police allege.

He then allegedly said that if she didn’t “respond to ice, it’s narcan time and if she doesn’t respond to that it’s ambo time.”

“She’s that f***ed she’s only responding to slaps in the face, but I’ve seen her like this multiple times and moment you shoot her witt ice (sic) she’s up.”

According to the couples’ social media pages, the two got engaged in late August, and a post to Mr Ross’ LinkedIn profile suggests the two were “expecting”.

He completed a degree in IT at the University of South Australia in 2022, and recently worked as a development, security and operations engineer at Qantas, according to his LinkedIn

Ms Bowden has been described by friends as a “really beautiful, loving human being”.

“This is just such a tragic thing to happen to the both of them,” a friend told The Advertiser at the scene on Friday.
