A friend Ms Bowden’s, Jacinta Kirby, described her as a “beautiful human being”.

“This is just such a tragic thing to happen to the both of them.

“I was just hoping it wasn’t them because I know they have been doing so well recently.”

Ms Kirby said she had met Ms Bowden when they moved to the Redwood Park address.

“I am heartbroken about this,” she said.

According to her profile on LinkedIn, Ms Bowden described herself as a “Pharmaceutical Sciences STEM Student interested in Medicine” at RMIT University.

Her profile explains she has previously worked in roles including IT support, customer service, web design and development, data entry, admin, event managing and more.

Ms Bowden wrote on her profile that she would “love any opportunity to work in a scientific role” in a company with “a strong ethical code” and that she was studying a degree in Biochemistry and Pharmacology.

She also offered services including training, web development and appointment scheduling services.

Also at the scene on Friday, neighbour Seraphim Jovanov, a mental health and community councillor, said the death was “quite traumatic”.

“I didn’t know the people, but from what I heard yesterday and the intervention from the police, it was quite distressing,” Mr Jovanov said.

“I feel sorry for her, and her family, I can’t imagine what they might be going through.

“(When I saw the police) I was shocked … I thought this is another way we have potentially failed as a society and system to protect victims.”

Police said the man and woman were known to each other.

One street over, commercial woodworker Peter Howard and wife Betty heard about the incident from neighbour Roy, and were a “bit shocked” something like this had happened in their quiet neighbourhood.

“It makes you feel unsettled … but didn’t know what to make of it.

“Drugs are a terrible thing … she was a young woman … very tragic.”

The woman was found after emergency services were called to the home on Thursday morning.
