For Brenda Loveday, her love of food since she was very young has ended up with her having a very successful career in social media, as well as lead to her opening a restaurant in Adelaide’s CBD.
The 28-year-old first started her popular blog, Freaky Feeds, in 2016 but “never took it seriously” until a few years ago.
“My friend was like ‘you need to start posting on TikTok, it’s such a big app at the moment’ but I was unsure about video content,” Ms Loveday said.
“But then the first video I did on TikTok went viral and the cafe I did it for reached out to me and were like ‘oh my god, we’ve had a line-up out the door for a month’.”
Freaky Feeds had a few more viral videos and skyrocketed to success on both Instagram and TikTok, earning tens of thousands of followers.
Although popular on both platforms, Ms Loveday is of the opinion that simply posting a photo of what you’re eating is going out of foodie fashion in favour of video content.
“I feel like about five years ago the big thing was to take a selfie and you’d have all the food in front of you and that’s all you’d post,” she said.
“But now, it’s video and people want to see every little detail.”
Ms Loveday herself works in social media management full-time, managing over 10 venues in Adelaide as well as overseeing her own accounts and running her new restaurant, Niña, which opened a month ago.
Niña is run by Ms Loveday as well as her chef partner Leonardo Loureiro and hospo veteran Jessica Purcell.
“It’s very shared style, casual dining, when you come in you can order a bunch of food and it comes out one by one,” Ms Loveday said.
“You can share a bottle of wine or sangria and just chill and have a good time.”
But Ms Loveday isn’t alone, there are plenty of foodie’s sharing what their next meal is on social media.

Jessica Galletly

Jessica Galletly is the ultimate foodie — it’s literally her job.
As head of food and lifestyle at The Advertiser and also editor of delicious. South Australia, she knows the best places to grab a bite to eat across the state.
As well as highlighting and reviewing eateries in SA, Ms Galletly also posts mouthwatering snaps to her Instagram page.
Marcus Costanzo

Marcus Costanzo has been on the foodie scene for a couple of years, well-known for posting videos of his own recipes and for his reviews of chicken parmi’s from restaurants across SA.
He and his mum Sonia Costanzo were recently on the latest season of My Kitchen Rules, making it to the semi-finals and leaving in third place.
Marcus’ social following has ballooned on TikTok, amassing almost 220,000 followers. His new cookbook – Marcus Costanzo a self-made cookbook – launched last month.
Marcus told The Advertiser that the cookbook took 500 hours to complete and $15,000 to make, and will cost $9.99 for people to buy.
“It’s about getting as many people excited to cook as possible and I know at a $10 price point, it’s accessible to everyone,” he said.
Rylee Cooper – Date Night Adelaide

Dominating both the Instagram and TikTok scene is Rylee Cooper, who shares with her audience the must-go spots to date in Adelaide.
Her posts include short but detailed reviews of the places she visits around town, including what she enjoyed to eat and experience.
Her TikTok has also blown up, with her follower account at over 35,000 and growing.

The Adelaide Insider is back online and back to posting the best of what to eat in Adelaide after a three-year hiatus.
Tayla Giles, a 25-year-old communications student at UniSA, runs the blog as well as working full time.
In a post announcing her comeback, Ms Giles said it “feels good” coming back into the blogging community.
“I can’t wait to see what lies in store for The Adelaide Insider,” she wrote.
Adelaide Food Club

They’re huge on Instagram for their reels and aesthetic photos of the interiors of restaurants and eateries in Adelaide.
Adelaide Food Club are masters of showing the little details in places you never would know about, including decor, furniture, staff making food, and of course, the food itself.
The page has only recently joined TikTok and since the end of October has gained more than 1000 followers.
Poh Ling Yeow

Recently announced as a new judge on MasterChef, Poh Ling Yeow also shares her foodie adventures to her 377,000 followers on Instagram.
From sharing her own recipes to posting videos of her baking various sweet treats for her market stall Jam Face, Poh is constantly making us hungry.
The celebrity chef has yet to venture to TikTok but we are eagerly waiting her arrival.
Sophie Williams – The Streets of Adelaide

Leading us down the streets of Adelaide is Sophie Williams, and you never know the hidden gems you might find.
With almost 60,000 followers under her belt, Ms Williams has been food blogging and tasting her way around the state for years.
She has also ventured to TikTok to share her favourite places to dine, earning her over 33,000 followers.
Lee Lam – Adelaide Food Central

With a huge following of almost 140,000, Adelaide Food Central is at the top of the foodie chain in the state.
Lee Lam’s feed features gorgeous and almost artwork-like images of various spreads of food as well as first-look’s into new restaurants and new menus.
The blog has recently taken to posting Reels and TikTok’s, gaining nearly 2000 followers since October.
Laura Sharrad

MasterChef star and owner of coveted Adelaide dining hotspots Fugazzi and Nido, Laura Sharrad is frequently posts on socials of her other adventures with food.
With posts and videos of her making homemade pasta, baking delicious creations, and giving her followers recommendations of new places to try, Sharrad is a firm favourite.

Finding Adelaide haven’t been active on TikTok since last year and are more prominent on their Instagram page.

Another star from MasterChef to add to our foodie influencer list is Rose Adam.
As well as being the cook and co-owner of boutique cafe The Middle Store, Rose takes to her Instagram to share her incredible recipes such as a mixed lolly bag slice and apple cinnamon loaves.

The account has seen more success through TikTok than Instagram, clocking up over 11,000 on TikTok compared to 2000 Instagram, but we still delight in content on both platforms and wish we were eating along with them.
