A police raid on a farm just north of Coffs Harbour unearthed caches of ammunition and a quantity of mind-altering LSD.

It led to the arrest of Dain Anthony Mavin, who appeared in Coffs Harbour Local Court.

In December, Mavin was sentenced for vile abuse he directed at his ex’s new partner and a neighbour, including threats to cut ears off, and narrowly avoided jail.

He also drove his car at another person in a road rage incident.

Mavin, 43, pleaded guilty to two charges on Tuesday, while two others were withdrawn by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

“The offender indicated there may be ammunition on the quad bikes which were left there by his brother who is a licensed firearm holder,” police facts state.

Mavin’s home was searched and police found plastic resealable bags in the front pocket of a man’s shirt hanging in the master bedroom.

One of the bags contained a small bottle with 1.5 grams of the semisynthetic hallucinogen lysergide.

Charges of knowingly take part-cultivate greater than large commercial quantity of prohibited plant and supply prohibited drug greater than commercial quantity were withdrawn.

Magistrate Julia Virgo ordered preparation of a sentencing assessment report and adjourned the case to July 26.
