A man has been sent to jail after he threatened to bash his long-term partner so savagely “no one will ever touch you again”.

Toormina man Raymond Junior West faced Coffs Harbour Local Court last Wednesday.

The 28-year-old previously pleaded guilty to two counts of stalk or intimidate intending to cause fear of physical or mental harm and one count of contravene prohibition or restriction in an apprehended domestic violence order.

It came after an apprehended domestic violence order was put in place on September 6 last year.

West had to be fitted with an electronic monitoring device to reduce the risk to the woman.

West threatened to leave the woman with injuries so severe no one would date her again.

West told his partner of eight years during a nasty exchange on September 27: “Watch how ugly I make you – no one will ever touch you again.”

The Toormina man also wrote “hello dumbdog” and “you are dead”, court documents reveal.

The victim retorted: “i don’t want u no more u f**ked up not me”.

West contacted the victim by phone calls, texts and emails – and the pair met at Jordan Esplanade at The Jetty for a walk, court documents show.

The woman attended West’s home, West was caught on a dating app, and an argument ensued.

He grabbed the woman’s mobile phone and refused to return it. The woman agreed to meet West, retrieved her phone and returned home.

The threatening exchange came two days later, on October 3.

West was jailed for his offending.

The pair met at West’s home, he grabbed the woman’s phone and “started going through it, questioning her relationship with people”, according to police facts.

The victim got in her car and locked it.

West punched the driver’s side window and walked to the end of the one-way street, blocking her exit.

The woman waited in her car for about 20 minutes and asked: “What are you doing mother f**ker?”

West then ran up to the car and said “If you wanna go you can go”, hurling the woman’s phone at the vehicle twice.

West was sentenced to prison for 12 months with a non-parole period of six months.
