Princess Mary has arrived in Australia for Christmas without her husband Prince Frederik following the “affair” scandal which has rocked the Danish royal family.
Princess Mary was with her two youngest children, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, when she was spotted boarding a flight at Sydney Airport with her best friend, and former bridesmaid, Amber Petty.
Before getting on the plane to Tasmania, the Crown Princess of Denmark, 51 browsed the airport newsagents, picking up a copy of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s book “Be Useful” - a memoir and self-help read, offering Schwarzenegger’s advice on how to overcome adversity.
Looking effortlessly chic in a beige blazer and brown trousers and pair of Adidas Original sneakers, she was surrounded by a small entourage of minders and security staff before the flight to her home state of Tasmania.
Continuing the narrative being pushed by the Danish Royal Family that Mary and her husband are united despite the affair rumours, they have confirmed Frederik will be joining his family at a later date due to official commitments and schooling.
Missing from the family trip will be the Crown Prince Couple’s eldest child, Prince Christian, 18.
Prince Frederik is currently attending the climate conference COP 28 in Dubai with his mother Queen Margrethe.
The Danish Royal Family also this week a clip of the married couple of 19-years decorating the Christmas tree with their four children - Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, 16, and the 12-year-old twins.
Crown Princess Mary previously visited Australia in April 2023 for her first official engagement in the country in 10 years.
The Crown Prince Family celebrated Christmas in Mary’s native Australia last year. Two days before Christmas, the Royal House shared a photo of the royals from their “private Christmas vacation,” along with a message that read (translated to English): “Merry Christmas from Down Under - celebrating Christmas in Tasmania Here there are neither freezing degrees nor just trees but summer and warm weather.”
Prior to that, Mary visited her homeland in 2017, and was papped at a number of Sydney’s beaches and yachting around Sydney Harbour.
Rumours began swirling of Frederik’s alleged affair in early November, when Lecturas Magazine published photos purporting to show the future King on a date with Genoveva Casanova.
Princess Mary grew up in Tasmania and spent 28 years in Australia before she moved to the Scandinavian nation and married Frederik at Copenhagen Cathedral in 2004.
She met her husband, Crown Prince Frederik, at bar, The Slip Inn, during the 2000 Olympic Games.
Their 23-year romance has been dubbed a ‘real-life fairytale’.
