Bourke: Police investigating suspicious death of 47yo woman

Police have established a crime scene after the body of a woman was located in the state’s west.

Officers from Central North Police District responded to reports the body of a woman had been located along Parkdale Rd in Bourke shortly after 8am on Tuesday.

The woman is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged 47.

NSW Police has stated that a 49-year-old man known to the woman is currently assisting with inquiries at Bourke Police Station.

A crime scene has been established and officers are waiting for the arrival of specialist police.

No further information is available at this stage.

As inquiries continue police are urging anyone with information, including dashcam or mobile phone footage, to come forward and contact Bourke Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
