NT police seize 300 standard drinks of liquor seized in Subaru headed for Jabiru
A cache of more than 300 standard drinks of grog has been found en route to a dry remote community in Arnhem Land.

POLICE have seized over 300 standard drinks worth of liquor en route to a dry Arnhem Land community.
NT PFES said in a statement they had “apprehended a Subaru travelling towards Jabiru” on Thursday.
A search of the vehicle found beer, rum and whisky stashed away, which was promptly seized by police.

The two occupants of the vehicle have since admitted to police to be the owners of the alcohol, and said they were travelling toward a remote outstation.
NT Police said the alcohol was destined to be destroyed, and that both people were issued notices to appear in court.
Acting Superintendent Michael Milde said police would continue to crack down on grog running “in an effort to reduce alcohol-related harm in the community”.
