On offer will be $2.50 Go Buckets and a chance to win bucket hats, lunch boxes, water bottles and to meet an actor playing Colonel Sanders, who’s expected to make an appearance.

Store general manager Vernadette Tan, a 10-year KFC veteran, said home delivery would be available from the new outlet.

“For locals who want to get their hands on the Colonel’s fried gold from the comfort of their home, delivery will also be available.”

About 50 people are already on the KFC payroll, with Ms Tan saying the new outlet will provide opportunities for the team to develop skills in teamwork and customer service.

“We’re thrilled to welcome 50 new team members into the KFC family, providing a significant number of jobs to the local area” Ms Tan said.

“We’re passionate about building a strong and confident team to ensure we provide both the best customer service possible and quality Kentucky Fried Chicken to the people of Stuart Park.

“Our culture fosters the growth and development of our people by providing opportunities that help them gain lifelong skills, confidence and friends. We’re looking forward to watching our new team members reach their potential.”

Employees begin with orientation training before being paired with a team coach, who guides them through a combination of online learning and in-restaurant training on the way to certification.

She said as employees progress through KFC, they are also offered opportunities to take on registered traineeships and enrol in a KFC-specific Diploma of Leadership and Management curriculum.

Jenny Cabral and Jackson Mackie have been appointed assistant restaurant managers. The new store is open from 10am to 10pm.
