Police have released photos of a man who they hope might be able to help with investigations into the alleged assault of an employee inside an inner-Brisbane store.

Police have released an image of a man whom they might be able to help solve an alleged assault on a Newstead shop worker last month.

Initial information indicated that a man entered the store on Breakfast Creek Rd about 4pm and assaulted the male employee before fleeing, police alleged.

Police believed he boarded a train at Bowen Hills before possibly disembarking in the CBD.

They have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations.

He was described as approximately 185cm tall, with black curly hair.

He was wearing a white polo shirt and black shorts.

Anyone with information was urged to contact police on 131 444 or via the policelink site.
